MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's put up a fight against the WCC's top team, No. 8 Pepperdine, on Saturday but would eventually fall 4-0 at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.
The Gaels nearly came up with the doubles point but were edged in the final of the three matches. Mariia Kozyreva and Hind Abdelouahid won 7-5 on Court 1 to tie up the set score 1-all but Pepperdine's tandem of Adrijana Lekaj and Satsuki Takamura clinched the point shortly later with a 7-5 win on Court 3.
The Waves (11-3, 3-0 WCC) rattled off three wins in singles play to take the match.
