SKILLMAN, N.J. — Following a successful fall, the Saint Mary’s College women’s tennis team will begin the 2016 season with a top-50 national ranking, as announced Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
The Gaels came in ranked No. 45 in the ITA’s first rankings of the 2016 season. Saint Mary’s finished 2015 ranked No. 44 after its fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament in six years. Senior Jamie Pawid was also ranked among the country’s best singles players, tabbed as No. 103 in the country and No. 13 in the Northwest Region.
