PULLMAN, Wash. - Saint Mary's headed north for a two-match road trip to take on #52 Washington State and Gonzaga. They fell to the Cougars on Thursday 4-0 to end their three-match win streak and record their first loss of conference play.
The Gaels top doubles team in and fell 6-3 to the 41st ranked pair in Eva Alvarez Sande and Maxine Murphy, clinching the doubles point for the Cougars. and led 4-1 in their doubles match but were unable to finish before Sande and Murphy clinched the point.
In singles play, Daries went down in a hard fought three-set match which needed a tiebreaker in the third set to secure the fourth point of the day for Washington State.
