SAN DIEGO — Saint Mary’s won the doubles point Saturday to take an early match lead, but host San Diego won four singles matches to earn a 4-2 West Coast Conference victory at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center.
Clementine Clement had an undefeated day for the Gaels (2-8, 0-1 WCC), winning 6-3 at No. 2 doubles with first-time partner Emma Critser, then defeating USD’s Maria-Paula Torres, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 4 singles.
The Toreros (6-4, 3-0 WCC) moved to 6-2 at home in duals this season while the Gaels dropped to 0-6 in true road matches.
