MORAGA, Calif. — In her 18th year at the helm of the Saint Mary’s College women’s tennis program, head coach Lisa Alipaz reached a milestone Sunday, as the Gaels’ 4-0 victory over Cal State Northridge marked her 200th career dual match win.
Alipaz entered the spring with 199 career victories through her first 17 seasons, an average of nearly 12 wins each spring. Her teams have logged double-digit wins for 12 consecutive seasons from 2004-15 and have won no less than 13 matches in eight of the last nine years (since 2007). The program has made a trip to the NCAA Tournament in five of the last six years during its most recent success.
