MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's softball was back home last weekend and earned a split against two opponents from the East Coast in Maine and Dartmouth. One of the big arms in the circle that helped the Gaels pitching staff lock down both offenses was Avrey Wolverton, who was named this week's Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week.
Wolverton drew the start in the final game of the weekend and did not disappoint. She picked up her first win of the season, going the distance and allowing just one run while doing so, scattering five hits and two walks across those seven innings.
