MORAGA, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has canceled all spring competitions, including WCC championship events, and formal and organized practices. The decision was made following consultation with the league's presidents and athletic directors to mitigate the further spread of COVID-19.
Beginning immediately, including the NCAA men's basketball tournament, Saint Mary's College follows the WCC's decision and will not have any more competitions this academic year.
Statement from SMC Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Matoso
"This is an unfortunate and unprecedented circumstance, and safety concerns have to be our top priority at Saint Mary's College," Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Matoso said.
