MORAGA, Calif. — Five players in double figures and a huge third quarter led the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team to its largest offensive output of the season Thursday as the Gaels blew out Portland 92-76 in a West Coast Conference matchup at McKeon Pavilion.
Saint Mary’s (8-8, 3-2 WCC) scored 34 points in the third quarter alone. The period included a 21-8 run that gave the Gaels their largest lead of the night, a 22-point, 74-52 advantage. Four of SMC’s five starters finished with double-digit points. SMC shot 53.1 percent and held the Pilots (3-13, 1-4 WCC) to 38.
