SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team found its shooting stroke Thursday, posting its best performance in four games from all three aspects (field goals, 3-pointers, free throws) in a 79-71 non-conference road win over Cal Poly at the Mott Athletics Center.
The Gaels (3-4) shot 49.0 percent from the floor, 43.8 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 81.5 percent from the free-throw line. All three marks were their best since a 77-53 win at Northeastern on Nov. 18. Saint Mary’s was on the mark from deep, making a season-high seven 3-pointers with treys from four different players.
