MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team rallied from 17-down to defeat Cal Poly 87-83 in overtime on Thursday night in McKeon Pavilion. With the win, the Gaels enter West Coast Conference action with a 9-2 mark in non-conference, with several wins over the power conferences.
The Gaels had to overcome a hot-shooting first-half by Cal Poly as the Mustangs hit 8-for-13 from long range in the first-half. CP led by as many as 17, before the Gaels closed to within 46-33 at the break. CP shot 58 percent in the first-half while the Gaels were still in the game with a half to play.
