MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team earned a season sweep over Gonzaga with a convincing 66-47 victory on Thursday night in McKeon Pavilion. Saint Mary’s led by as many as 29 as the Gaels swept the season series for the first time in 14 years.
With the win, Saint Mary’s improves to 20-6, 11-4 West Coast Conference, while Gonzaga drops to 17-10, 9-6 WCC. SMC has now won 20 or more games for five consecutive seasons. The Gaels have a shot to surpass the 23-wins (tied for 2nd most in school history) mark which SMC has tallied in each of the last three seasons.
