MALIBU, Calif. – A cold second-half from the field resulted in a tough 62-58 loss to Pepperdine in Malibu on Thursday night at Firestone Fieldhouse.
The Gaels led late, but the Waves took the lead in the final minute and held off the Gaels in the end. Despite the loss, Saint Mary’s is now 18-6, 9-4 West Coast Conference. With San Diego losing, the Gaels are still very much in the mix for a second-place finish, with first-place not out of the question.
Stella Beck led the Gaels with 17 points while Sydney Raggio added 12 points.
