MORAGA, Calif. – After weeks of training with the Australian Gems, Saint Mary's women's basketball's Sam Simons will head to the FIBA U19 World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand this weekend.
Placed in Group C, Australia will face the likes of Hungary, Korea, and the USA in the group stage before heading to the knockout round next week. The Gems will face the USA in their first game on July 19 at 10:15pm PT. The live stream can viewed for free here:
"We have a really tough pool," said Simons. "USA, Hungary and Korea play three completely different styles of basketball so we will have to do a good job of adjusting each game.
