MALIBU, Calif. – Saint Mary's Women's Basketball controlled the second quarter at Pepperdine, which propelled them to 62-55 win over the Waves on Thursday night.
SMC kept Pepperdine to just five points in the second quarter on 2 of 16 shooting, while shooting 50% from the field themselves and 4 of 6 from three-point range to win the quarter 22-5.
It was the opposite of the first quarter where the Gaels were just 4 of 15 shooting and scored just 9 points. But Saint Mary's started the second quarter on a 10-1 run on their way to the big second quarter.
