SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Women's Basketball battled the Broncos on Saturday afternoon, but Santa Clara quelled the Gaels comeback attempts in a 70-58 loss at the Leavey Center, ending their win streak against SCU at five games.
The Gaels trailed by 11 early on, but Ali Bamberger kept the Broncos from getting any further ahead with a seven-point first quarter by going 3 for 4 from the field, including 1 for 2 on threes.
The Broncos would go up by 13 at one point in the second quarter, but a three by Makena Mastora and a jumper by Hanna Rapp kept to nine at the half.
