MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's played tough in their first game of the Thanksgiving Classic, but ultimately fell 77-63 against Marquette.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- QUARTER 1 | The Gaels struck first on Friday afternoon as Brianna Simonich sunk a layup for the first points of the game before Emily Codding nailed two threes to give SMC a 7-2 lead. Codding went on to score 11 points in the first quarter alone and ended the contest with a new, season-high 20 points. Saint Mary's continued to lead Marquette until the fifth minute when the Golden Eagles tied the contest 10-10, but SMC responded with a 6-2 run to regain their lead.
