MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Women's Basketball got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon, pulling away from the Pepperdine Waves in a 68-58 win at UCU Pavilion.
The game got off to an odd start with the score tied 2-2 with just under three minutes to go in the first quarter, but the Gaels (8-8, 2-3) led 13-4 after that first frame.
Foul trouble for and an offensive outburst from the Waves allowed Peppderine to cut the Gaels lead to 28-25 at the half. However, SMC answered the bell and then some to start the third quarter, starting the second half on a 10-0 run, capped off by two-straight threes by to extend their lead to 38-25.
