MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels (10-9, 4-3 WCC) reached double-digit victories on the 2023 season this afternoon, as they fired on all cylinders in a 3-0 sweep (25-11, 25-19, 25-15) of Portland (6-13, 1-6 WCC). Saint Mary's had put together brilliant stretches throughout this season, but seemed to have everything clicking, as the Pilots had no response for the Gaels crafty attack and stifling defense.
OPERATING AT PEAK EFFICIENCY
The Gaels hit at a whopping 44.6% today, the sixth best hitting percentage in a single match in program history. The team committed just seven errors throughout the three set match, while their top three hitters, Kjersti Strong, Hannah Taylor, and Kristen Erland combined to hit at 64.
