BERKELEY, Calif. – Saint Mary's stuck with No. 24-ranked Cal point-for-point in the first two sets, but the Bears ultimately prevailed, edging the Gaels by the score of 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• SET ONE | The Gaels took an early, 5-1 lead thanks to a 4-0 run including two-consecutive service aces from sophomore Breyan Ashley. However, the Bears came back within one point (6-5) before tying the match at 11-all and taking their first lead the following point. SMC came within two points (17-15), but Cal ultimately took the set 25-21.
