DAVIS, Calif. — Rain didn’t slow down the Saint Mary’s track team Saturday, as senior Zach Hansen won the men’s 3,000-meter run and the Gaels ran in packs all day at the Aggie Open at Woody Wilson Track.
Hansen led from start to finish to win the 3,000 meters, finishing first in 8 minutes, 33.48 seconds. Hansen led the pack with recent Saint Mary’s alumnus Cormac McCullaugh through the first four laps, then pushed forward and led the rest of the way. Edward Chance, Josh Spooner and Mason Labadie ran as a pack for the first mile of the race before the pack strung out over the final 1,400 meters.
