STANFORD, Calif. — Running among some of the country’s best and looking to improve his positioning on the national scene, senior Zach Hansen improved his time again Sunday in the 1,500 meters, running 3:42.64 at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford’s Cobb Track and Angell Field.
Hansen was seeded in heat No. 5 but still finished with the fifth-best time among NCAA Division I competitors. His mark was faster than that of Olympians Mohammed Ahmed and Lopez Lomong, both of whom ran in heat No. 1. Hansen also had a faster time than any Stanford athlete on the day.
