MORAGA, Calif. — She blazed a path through Johnson-Springview Park on Saturday and now she is getting recognized by Saint Mary's Athletics. Announced this morning, Rayna Stanziano of Gaels Cross Country has been named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week after her stellar first-place performance at the Jessup Invitational last week.
Stanziano is no stranger to success. The sophomore out of Concord was a top-finisher during nearly every race during her freshman season and she picked up right where she left off. She was able to get past former NAIA-cross country star Bailey Cossentine by 17 seconds en route to an 18:21.
