MORAGA, Calif. — With the campus of Saint Mary's College currently unable to host events, Wednesday would have been the 2020 President's Scholar-Athlete Luncheon. In what would have been the third-annual installment of the popular event, 98 student-athletes were honored for their academic success, a number that has increased every year since its inception. While the community cannot gather to formally celebrate, the recognition of the success of Saint Mary's student-athletes and their professors marks a special occasion.
These 98 student-athletes came from all 16 varsity sports on campus. The luncheon is traditionally open to Gaels who carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.
