MORAGA, Calif. — On the heels of a big week for Saint Mary's Women's Basketball, Sam Simons has been awarded the Saint Mary's Student-Athlete of the Week award, for her performance during two games inside University Credit Union Pavilion this weekend.
Simons was on her mark all week long as the Gaels split their weekend of conference games. Notably, on Saturday, the Gaels ended No. 11 Gonzaga's 22-game winning streak, the longest in the country, with a 70-60 win. Simons was instrumental in that win, going 5-5 from three-point range (part of 14-21 as a team from beyond the arc), en route to 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists.
