BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — In the rubber match game between Saint Mary’s (6-8) and Bakersfield, the Gaels put together a four-run seventh inning en route to a 5-2 win over the Roadrunners (2-10).
Abbey Mariani started the Gaels’ late rally with a leadoff walk to begin the seventh. Eryn McCoy pinch ran for Mariani and came around to score the game-tying run on a Bakersfield error. With two outs in the inning, Dylan Linton extended the rally to load the bases for Hailey Sparacino.
Just as she did in yesterday’s match, Sparacino delivered a huge hit for the Gaels, smacking a 3-2 pitch for a bases clearing triple.
