SACRAMENTO, Calif. — After a huge fourth inning, Saint Mary's (5-12) secured a 9-2 victory over Utah State on Friday on the first day of the UC Davis Capital Classic Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Utah State added their first run to the board in the bottom of the second to take an early 1-0 lead over Saint Mary's. The Gaels responded with a huge fourth inning as they put up seven runs to take a six run lead over the Aggies.
Alex Casas got the scoring started for Saint Mary's when she nailed a two run double to send home Halle Sullivan and Kenedi Lopes before Indya Smith tacked on the third run off a wild pitch.
