FRESNO, Calif. — Bouncing back from a tough loss on Tuesday, the Gaels (9-10) were able to best the host Fresno State Bulldogs (9-9) in the Bulldog Classic Opener by a 6-1 scoreline. Odhi Vasquez worked her fifth complete game in her last six, allowing just one run on three hits, while fanning five. She's now 6-1 for the season with a stellar 1.59 ERA.
The Gaels jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, as Sam Buckley doubled before being bunted to third by Camille Lara and scoring on a wild pitch.
