LOS ANGELES — Despite late-inning rallies in both games of their doubleheader, the Gaels (16-24, 2-6 WCC) dropped two matches against conference rival Loyola Marymount on Saturday in Los Angeles.
Loyola Marymount 2, Saint Mary's 0
After holding the Lions (18-29, 4-7 WCC) scoreless for five and two-thirds innings, LMU broke the 0-0 tie with a two-out two-RBI double to center and ultimately took the game by the same score, 2-0.
Saint Mary's had their chance to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning after a fielder's choice, single by Cara DiMercurio, and walk by Giana Bilotta loaded the bases with two outs.
