DAVIS, Calif. — Saint Mary's split their Wednesday doubleheader on the road against the Aggies to improve to 5-4 this year.
GAME 1 RECAP Kayla Scott was the player of the game for SMC as she threw a complete game shutout in the circle. The sophomore struck out five Aggies and scattered seven hits in her first career shutout. Saint Mary's got on the board in the third inning thanks to a two-out rally off the bats off the Marissa freshmen. Marissa Nishihara managed to sneak a single into right field with two down to push Julia McCormack to first and then Marissa Montelongo drove in the run with a well placed bunt.
