MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (9-28, 2-1 WCC) had a chance to sweep the Broncos (9-28, 1-2 WCC) on Sunday but a number of miscues proved costly in a 4-1 loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos' first batter of the game, Eleni Spirakis, reached on a misplayed pop-up in the infield and would come home on a sacrifice fly just one batter later. A two-run jack by Emma Bickford in the second inning gave SCU a three-run advantage early on.
Saint Mary's got on the board in the fifth as Dylan Linton notched an RBI fielder's choice to cut the deficit to two.
