FRESNO, Calif. — Saint Mary's (1-6) wasn't able to overcome potent offensive performances from California and Cal Poly on Friday as they dropped both games in the first day of the Bulldog Classic.

Saint Mary's had a tough time getting the offense kickstarted in their morning game as they were only able to muster up one hit and two total baserunners against Cal. Bears' junior pitcher Chloe Romero threw the complete game shutout while striking out seven.
Hannah Chew broke up the no-hitter by Romero in the final inning with a double to center field for the Gaels' lone hit of the game.
