MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (6-6) came out swinging in the latter game of their Sunday doubleheader with San Jose State (2-4) to split the day's games and end the weekend on a high note.

The Gaels offense jumped out early in the bottom of the first inning with Hannah Chew driving in two runs with a double to left field.
The Gaels opened the contest with solid defense and pitching from Sofia Earle until the Spartan's offense erupted in the top of the third inning.
