It didn’t come easily, nor did it come comfortably, but in dramatic fashion Saint Mary’s managed to take two of three games in their three-game series against Gonzaga that finished up late Saturday afternoon on Louis Guisto Field.
It took 12 innings for Saint Mary’s to finally pull ahead in the final game. In the bottom of the 12th, with Jackson Thoreson on first base after reaching on a walk, senior Brett Rasso hit a high drive into right, the ball somehow finding the space of the wall between the top and Gonzaga rightfielder Daniel Frederickson’s glove.
