Saint Mary's men suffer first home loss

MORAGA -- Saint Mary's perfect home record is no more.

The Gaels had a miserable night from the free-throw line and fell to Pepperdine 69-63 on Thursday night at McKeon Pavilion.The Waves (15-10, 8-6 West Coast Conference) completed a season sweep of Saint Mary's (19-4, 10-3) and ended the Gaels' 15-game home winning streak to start the season.The loss also delivers a major blow to the Gaels' WCC title hopes. Gonzaga (20-5, 12-2) now owns a 1½ game lead on Saint Mary's.The Gaels were just 5 of 14 from the free-throw line, and those missed points cost them dearly.
