SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Saint Mary's closed out the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships with a bang as their Varsity Eight took first place on Sunday.
The Gaels outpaced Santa Clara in their first race of the day, finishing just under 10 seconds ahead of the Broncos. SMC competed in one other race on the final day with their Varsity Four boat finishing seventh behind Stanford.
The Gaels will return to Lake Natoma in three weeks for the final race of the season: The West Coast Conference Championship.
