SAN DIEGO — The Saint Mary’s rowing team raced well in their finals appearances and made school history on Sunday at the San Diego Crew Classic.
Saint Mary’s 2v8 Varsity Eight Boat started off the day on Sunday by making school history as the first boat to advance to the petite finals in that certain section. It finished 6th on the afternoon with a time of seven minutes, 17.21 seconds. The Gaels other Varsity Eight boat finished 4th in their race in 7:02.48, beating out West Coast Conference rival Santa Clara by 15 seconds. SMC’s Varsity Four boat finished fifth on the day with a time of 8:31.
