VANCOUVER, Wash. — Saint Mary's Rowing took on the University of Portland and Seattle University on Saturday morning, with the Gaels putting two boats in the water. Both SMC boats excelled in the water despite some periodically rough conditions. The Gaels were able to take down one of the Portland boats in the second varsity eight race, with their times reflective of the conditions on the water.
The first varsity eight boat took the water at 9:00 am, and the Gaels were within striking distance of both Portland and Seattle. The Gaels time of 7:34.
