RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — With day one of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in the books, the Saint Mary's rowing team advances to the grand finals on Sunday.
The Gaels raced for lanes in all heats and thus will race again tomorrow. The first varsity eight boat started the day off for Saint Mary's grabbing a fifth place finish in six minutes, 58.036 seconds. The second varsity eight boat finished fifth in their heat in 6:58.292 beating out Sacramento State by less than a second. The two varsity four boats finished out the day racing in the same heat.
