SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Saint Mary's competed in four events on day one of the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships. The Gaels were highlighted by their second Varsity Eight boat which claimed first place out of five teams in the final.
The 2V8 boat finished way out in front of the competition, pacing the field by nearly 13 seconds. The Gaels' Novice Four also placed well, finding themselves in second place in the final, just under five seconds behind UC Davis. For the full results, see below.
The Gaels will return to action on Sunday, placing two boats in the water: Varsity Eight and Varsity Four.
