MORAGA, Calif. — Emmett Naar was named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 23-29 after helping No. 18 Saint Mary’s defeat its two Bay Area rivals by a combined total of 33 points.
Naar averaged 16.5 points, two rebounds and 7.5 assists in the week’s action versus San Francisco and Santa Clara. For the week, Naar shot 10-for-18 (66.7 percent) from the floor and a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line.
On Thursday, Naar fell one-point shy of his season high 19 points against the Dons. Along with his 18 points, he recorded six assists on a night where the Gaels shot 57 percent.
