STOCKTON, Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Tennis won 4-3 over the Pacific Tigers on Saturday, bringing them back to .500 in WCC play at 3-3.
The win puts the Gaels at sixth in the conference standings, which would qualify them for the WCC Tournament April 27-29.
SMC struck quickly by gaining the doubles point in the first two sets to finish. and won 6-1 and and won their doubles match 6-4 for the early lead.
Freshman won the first singles match to finish 7-6, 6-0, but the Tigers won the next three singles matches to finish – all in two sets – and suddenly the Gaels were on the brink of a loss at 3-2.
