MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (0-3) played their first home match of the season on Thursday afternoon and dropped the contest to the visiting Cal Poly Mustangs, 4-2.
The teams did not play any doubles matches due to incoming inclement weather and instead played strictly singles.
Picking up wins for the Gaels were Matis Bot and No. 23 Damon Kesaris. Bot earned the team's first win of the day by defeating Carter Crookston in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
Cal Poly (2-2) went up 2-1 in matches but the Gaels tied up the score as Kesaris took another straight set victory (6-4, 6-1) on court 1.
