SEATTLE — Saint Mary's Damon Kesaris advanced to the singles Round of 32 on Friday to highlight the Gaels' efforts on the second day of the ITA Northwest Regionals.
After a first round bye, Kesaris took down Oregon's Young-Smith in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5 during the Round of 64. Kesaris advanced to the next round with a matchup against Neuhaus from Santa Clara but had to retire during the first set.
Saint Mary's had a successful consolation singles round as the Gaels earned three wins during the day. Matis Bot took down his competitor from Oregon, 6-2, 6-3 while Boris Reckow also defeated his opponent in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
