MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (5-14, 3-5 WCC) clinched a 4-3 victory on Friday over Portland for their second straight West Coast Conference win.
After James Watt picked up the first singles match point for the Gaels, Damon Kesaris and Daniel Krutik each defeated their opposition in straight sets to earn two more wins. In a tough three set match, Abhishek Bastola propelled Saint Mary's to the 4-3 victory after a competitive third set on Court 3. Bastola fell 6-2 in the first, but made a thrilling comeback as he defeated his opposition 6-2 in the second set and 7-5 in the third to secure the win.
