LOGAN, Utah — Saint Mary's (3-9) played in their final non-conference match of the season on Thursday against Utah State (8-4) but fell 4-2 to the Aggies.
USU earned the doubles points with wins on Courts 1 and 3. The Gaels' No. 2 tandem of Damon Kesaris and Fabian Roensdorf was locked up in a tight 6-6 match before the contest was called.
Saint Mary's pulled ahead with back-to-back wins from their top two players in singles. James Watt got the ball rolling for SMC with a straight set 6-3, 6-4 win on Court 2 before Kesaris knocked off the Aggies' top player Sergui Bucur with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 decision.
