MORAGA, Calif. -- Junior defender Rafael Sanchez became the sixth Saint Mary's men's soccer player to earn NSCAA all-region honors in the last seven seasons when he was recognized as a second-team all-Far West Region selection.
Sanchez, a native of Selah, Wash., is one of five West Coast Conference players to earn first or second team recognition. He earned first team all-league honors for the second straight season, served as a team captain and started all 14 of his appearances during the season.
"Junior was solid in every aspect this season," said SMC head coach Adam Cooper.
