MORAGA, Calif. – No. 8 Saint Mary's completed their third consecutive win of the season following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Grand Canyon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gaels sealed the win on Friday with a goal in the 48th minute by Anders Engebretsen. Following a foul in the box, Engebretsen took the penalty kick and scored his third goal of the season after sending the ball into the back of the net over the jumping GCU goalie.
Remi Prieur made the biggest save of the game in the 73rd minute when a Lope defender shot the ball towards the center of the net but Prieur made an impressive diving catch to prevent Grand Canyon from scoring.
