MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Traveling more than 2,200 miles from home and facing its third top-20 team on the road didn’t faze the Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team Saturday, as two goals from Frederick Karman, the second one coming in overtime, handed the Gaels a thrilling 2-1 overtime win over No. 17 West Virginia at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
Already with one goal in hand, Karman gave the Gaels (3-5-3) the golden goal victory 5 minutes, 17 seconds into the first overtime period. He was opportunistic on the day, scoring his first goal on a rebound to give SMC a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute, then doing it again in the 96th minute.
