MORAGA, Calif. -- For those familiar with the Saint Mary's men's soccer program, it seems like Rafael Sanchez has been a key member of the Gaels for about a decade.
The Selah, Wash. native earned first team all-West Coast Conference honors in each of the last two years and has played virtually every position on the field during his career. Known more recognizably by his nickname, Junior, Sanchez has played 42 matches in three seasons and, despite playing mostly defense, has a a pair of goals and 10 assists during that time.
Junior is one of seven returning starters and three seniors on this year's SMC men's soccer team.
