MORAGA -- Owner of the nation's highest shooting percentage, Saint Mary's outdid itself Thursday night, converting 83.3 percent in the first half on the way to a 78-62 victory over Pacific in West Coast Conference play.
"That's an amazing number. I had no idea," Gaels coach Randy Bennett said after learning his team shot 15 for 18 in the first half."I didn't know we had only missed three shots -- that was a surprise to me," center Jock Landale added. "It was one of those nights where we were just feeling ourselves."The Gaels scored on every first-half possession but one on which they did not have a turnover on the way to a 46-27 lead at the break.
